I'm glad you enjoyed the food and I'm sorry the atmosphere was not to your liking. We did inform you at the time of booking that there would be live music from 8pm, so I'm sorry if it wasn't to your liking. Most establishments in West Bay are considerably quieter in January and February, however, on the night you mention we did serve a lot more people than you indicated. I think it would also be fair to say that two visits, 4 years apart, might not be that representative of the West Bay. We are well known for our warm hospitality, great food and service, so I'm sorry if we didn't tick all the boxes for you on this occasion. Yes, the idea is to spend time there, but not all my money. Also, Legong Warung is rated #1 by TA, and is fantastic. Sky News Host Alan Jones speaks with Steve Noakes, chairman of the Binna Burra Lodge, to discuss how people can invest in the company's legacy after it was destroyed by the bushfires in September 2019. Located in the Lamington National Park, the bushfires wrecked more than $20 million worth of damage. The company, unlisted on the stock exchange, has invited people to buy a minimum of 500 shares – at the cost of only $1 per share. Mr Noakes said the main reason to buy into the Lodge would be to preserve the legacy and "good care" of the Binna Burra landscape. "The overriding motivation is for people who want to maintain the custodianship, the stewardship and the good care of the Binna Burra cultural landscape – it's on the Queensland Heritage register so it's a very special place for hundreds of families – and we'd like to take that to thousands of families", he told Sky News. Mr Noakes also said shareholders would be entitled to discounts regarding food and beverage, accommodation and activities.
The service was A1 - the staff were enthusiastic, dedicated and really switched on - made our 6 day stay memorable. The chefs did a grand job producing good, well-prepared food to meet a wide range of tastes. The adjacent Lamington National Park is splendid with many great trails and bushwalking tracks from easy to challenging.
