As a surprise, it actually takes a lot of liberties! This is likely to accommodate the fact that the animations wouldn't work as well in a fighting game than in a JRPG. In P5, Joker's idle Stance has him in a much more relaxed position with his knife at his side, and his coat waving in the wind more. This was likely done to make him seem more battle ready and alert, since the change in genre would give the stance a bit too lax of a vibe. Upon closer inspection it may also be a reference to his character art. His idle animation is also different. In P5, Joker would hold his knife over his shoulder as he gestures "come on! " With his hands. Here, he twirls his knife and gun in impatience. This was likely changed for the same reason.
