Ideally situated as a base from which to explore the Coromandel, we offer accommodation in either The Lodge or The Cottage, both situated in the grounds of Rapaura. During the hours of 9-5, the Gardens are open to the public but when the gate closes, the estate becomes your own private playground. In summer, enjoy a swim and a BBQ; in winter curl up by the fire with a book, music or board game. No television, just peace and the sound of running water. Most of the accommodation providers have found themselves spectacular locations so whether your tastes are for the upmarket or the simple, you'll find a room – or tent site – with an amazing view. It's just over an hour from Auckland airport, Rotorua and Hobbiton, and can be reached by road, air, or ferry.
Lovely place, one of the nicest on our trip. Lovely peaceful location, very easy check in and out. Hosts were super helpful recommending places to see and good restaurants. Will definitely stay again when back that way Absolute Beachview B & B Whitianga Located across the road from the beautiful Buffalo Beach, Absolute Beachview B & B features rooms with sea and garden views. Guests enjoy free WiFi and can relax on the deck and enjoy the lovely views. We were very impressed with the welcome, the room, the breakfast each day and location advice given us for our stay. Even given towels and a spade to dig for our visit to obligatory Hot Water Beach all extra touches and much appreciated. Guests enjoy free snorkeling equipment and shovels to explore the famous Hot Water Beach, an 8-minute drive away.
